Alpha Hybrid The Captured is book three in the series of novellas by Larissa Ladd. This is a continuation of the story of Abby who is half witch and half werewolf.
Things couldn’t be looking better for Abby. She is now ready to begin work on her dream, to open her own bakery. She is honing her abilities, both the witch side and the werewolf side, with the help of her best friend, Dorrie who is training her magical abilities. And, with the help of her guardian/teacher and the man she is hopelessly in love with, Jake, who is teaching her about her werewolf side. She has kept Jake in the friendship zone so she could concentrate on her training. But her resolve is weakening and perhaps she is ready to let their relationship progress.
Jake’s father is hosting a celebratory dinner in honor of Abby but there is an emergency and Jake and his father are called away with no explanation except that she is not to go home. It is too dangerous. She is to stay with Dorrie and her husband Buddy until his return. But she has no idea where Jake went, if he’s okay, or when he will return. So, of course she doesn’t follow instructions.
“Ridding the world of those who contaminated it with a lust for power was what they were born to do. To keep the balance they had to remove those who sought to control and maim everything good.”
Abby finds herself in quite a bit of trouble when she is captured. Someone knows of their kind and is stalking and capturing werewolves. While she is in captivity, she meets Bjorn. I enjoyed having another character added to the mix. There is much we don’t know about Bjorn but I instantly liked him.
There are still so many unanswered questions. There are dangers lurking at every turn for Abby and Jake. I am looking forward to the conclusion in the next book.
Abby got into trouble and saves herself. but now Jack is being all funny. they are hiding something crime her.
